For the early career girl who thinks shes late.
I’ve always struggled with feeling behind.
Like I should be further along.
Or as far along as those as I’ve been in competition with in my head.
You know, doing more. Reading more. Learning AI tools faster. Getting married at the same time as my peers. Having children. Freezing my eggs so I have an option for babies.
I didn’t have a traditional start in tech. My first jobs out of college were in nonprofit. If you looked at my resume back then, I was probably one of the least likely people to “end up” here.
But over the last two years here’s what I’ve learned: I’m not behind. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
The moment I stopped comparing myself to everyone else’s timeline, I could finally see it. Career paths, life paths, they aren’t linear. Every internship. Every role. Every pivot. It all prepared me for what I’m doing now.
If you’re early in your career and questioning your pace, you’re not behind. You’re building.
I’m grateful every day I get to do what I love. And always here to help others find their lane too.
